The Boston Celtics came back from being 26 points down to defeating the Houston Rockets 99-98. Kyrie Irving had 26 points, four rebounds and four assists, rookie Jayson Tatum had 19 points and five rebounds, while Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier had 13 points each.
James Harden led Houston with a 34-point, 10-rebound double-double, Eric Gordon had 24 points, Trevor Ariza had 11 points and six rebounds, and Nene finished with 10 points and four rebounds.
Magic dazzles Pistons
The Orlando Magic beat the Detroit Pistons 102-89. Elfrid Payton had 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Algerian-French guard Evan Fournier had 17 points and five assists, while Congolese center Bismack Biyombo ended the game with a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double.
Detroit were led by Tobias Harris with 21 points, Andre Drummond had a 17-point, 18-rebound double-double, Ish Smith had 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists, and Reggie Bullock had 13 points.
Bucks kick Timberwolves
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 102-96 on the back of Eric Bledsoe’s 26 points, six assists and five steals, Nigerian-Greek forward Giannis Antetokounmpo had a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Khris Middleton and John Henson combined for 28 with 14 points apiece.
Karl-Anthony Towns led Minnesota with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists, Andrew Wiggins had 21 points, Jimmy Butler had 20 points, five rebounds and seven assists, and Taj Gibson ended the game with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Spurs beat Knicks
The San Antonio Spurs beat the New York Knicks 119-107. LaMarcus Aldridge had 25 points, five rebounds and four assists, Pau Gasol had a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double, and Kyle Anderson finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.
New York was led by Michael Beasley with a 23-point, 12-rebound double-double, Kristaps Porzingis had 18 points and seven rebounds, Courtney Lee also had 18 points and Enes Kanter ended the game with 12 points and six rebounds.
Blazers burn Sixers
A 34-point game from CJ McCollum saw the Portland Trail Blazers get a 114-110 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, Shabazz Napier had 23 points, and Jusuf Nurkic had a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double.
Cameroonian center Joel Embiid led Philly with 29 points and nine rebounds, Dario Saric had 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists, JJ Redick has 19 points and rookie Ben Simmons finished the game with 17 points, four rebounds and eight assists.
